The TomTom kit for Iphone shows speed, and time etc. on the main screen. Does this have that screen, and the TomTom also warns you if you are 5mph over the speed limit….Does it have the speed warning?

I have this car kit, and I’ve used it with iPhone 4, iPod Touch 3G and 4G with Tomtom and Navigon apps, plus many smaller apps, such as MotionX GPS, and they all work great. For a better fit you may want to pull out the little adujustable rubber thingy on the back plate, turn it upside down and push it back in, which makes it protude out more while still adjustable. This is by design although not documented; you can tell from the tiny markings on the rubber piece.

I emailed the manufacturer about whether or not it works with iPod Touch 4G, and they told me that they cannot comfirm it. However, after testing myself I’m happy to report that it works with both iPod Touch 3G and 4G: the iPod doesn’t find the Car Kit’s bluetooth connection, but it doesn’t matter, because all the functions work perfectly. iPod gets the GPS information through the dock connector, charging works and voice instructions are amplified through the car kit’s speaker.
