the formula for a successful ap is very simple: good app + good price == lots of purchases. which equals (maybe) getting some money. if you make a crappy app or are dumb enough to charge too much for it of course you’re going to get squat. besides making any money at all on an app is generally a pipedream and rare. bottom line is aps are for hobbyists which is what makes it so great. iads is what happens when too many corporations want to stick their hands in the cookie jar.
@snabelkran i mean christ your argument it ludicrous. sure plop down ads on the free crap, but people PAY for aps so they DON’T have to see ads. So you are saying apps will be cheap so they can be full of ads to help give the developers more money?? Bullshit! I would never purchase an app that still bombarded me with ads even after it was paid for… What the hell kind of world do you live in that thinks this is ok?
@snabelkran ohh i see apple selflessly created more advanced ads for the developers… yeeah. not because apple is going to get a healthy dose of all that money. i get it now. thanks for clearing that up. *** NEWS FLASH *** Aps were doing just fine long before the iads campaign. if your app is good a cpl bucks is more than enough considering the worldwide audience. goods aps get people rich bad aps don’t. BTW if I PAY for an app i sure as hell do NOT want to see it full of ads end of story
@wrprince It’s not the Apple productes that is getting cheap because of the iAds, it’s the apps. The people who make the apps have a choice, they can make an app and sell it for a lot of money this way they will make money that cover there expences and time used, but this will lead to many people not downloading it because it’s expensive, and it wouldn’t get much attention. If they include ads in there apps they get (I think it’s) 60% of the revenue and can make the apps free/cheap.
@snabelkran last i checked, ipod touches, iphones, and ipads aren’t exactly “cheap” Apple’s bottom line would get by just fine without ads. They are doing it for the fucksake of it to get free money at our expense. The loyal customers are the ones that get punished. What’s next, built in ad’s on older ipods? How about constant ads that stream in on mac books? sure why not? mo money mo money mo money.
@wrprince If you like free/cheap stuff, you can’t complain on ads. And the way Apple es revolutioning the ads i great. If you don’t want to look at the ad, don’t.
It’s just stupid of people to expect free and cheap stuff when they freak out over ads.
Sweet just what the public wants MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS join in and sing along!!! MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS MORE ADS. YAYYYYY!!!!!!!! { Roaring applause }
@BestM8ts12 Hasn’t been a issue in the past, most sites using flash now are adds being displayed, few do use it for key components of the site but thats rare.
This is going to be horrible. It’s like I’ll be losing control of my phone. Not every ad is going to be like that, they just packed it all into one ad. That ad has all the features but others may only have one or two.

There’s a bug in the iAdd, when steve taps on Theaters the device didn’t ask for permission to get the location, as it was mentioned before.
Bug perhaps ?
