Is my mobile phone Jailbroken?

Query by Terry Vanleeuwen: Is my cellphone Jailbroken?
I have an iphone 3gs 32gb and It was bricked. I set up a custom software iPhone2,1_four.two.1_8C148a4.two.1Custom_Restore
and It now goes to the primary locked page. From here it tells me to “insert a valid sim with no pin lock to activate Iphone” and I can only make emergency calls. Kind that quote into google images and you will see it. I place in a rogers sim card and it says on itunes it is not compatable. I phoned the guy and he told me that it was Fido and unlocked just before, so is the phone nevertheless broken or did the update/restore reset the unlock? I cant get into the cellphone with a rogers sim or with none. Is this regular or abnormal? Also, can you tell me a program to use to unlock it with my existing custom restore, and is it officially jailbroken when I installed the software?

No. It does not jailbreak by itself

After you restored you iPhone it became locked for AT&T.
To unlock it again, you must follow these steps:
1. Jailbreak your iPhone http://greenpois0n.com/
2. Go to Cydia (an app you get once jailbroken)
3. Go to Search and type in Ultrasn0w
4. Install Ultrasn0w, which will unlock your Phone so that you could use your existing SIM card.
5. Enjoy!
