Question by Ryan: Is it possible to activate an iPhone 3GS purchased on eBay with US Cellular?
I’m arranging on getting an iPhone 3GS on eBay, but I do not know whether it can be activated with US Cellular. If, in the description, it says “unlocked iPhone“, does it suggest that it can be activated with any carrier? Please clarify this to me, since I’m completely clueless.

I don’t think US Cellular makes use of SIM Cards, so it would be not possible to use an iPhone 3GS on US Cellular unless of course US Cellular sold them themselves US Cellular has integrated SIM Cards.

“Unlocking” a telephone means you call the carrier the telephone is for and get the unlock code, once you do so you can use it on an additional carrier who employs SIM Cards, like if you had the AT&T Quickfire and desired to use it on T-Mobile you would call AT&T to get the unlock code so you can use a T-Mobile SIM Card in the mobile phone.
