@iMutain The A4 and A5 microprocessors in the iPhone 4 & 4S are both underclocked to 800MHz. Logically you would think a dual-core processor would have a quicker response to such a basic aspect of the iPhone, so I doubt the new processor has anything to do with the response time.

If I had to buy a new iphone now and spedn 550$ on the 4 or 640 in the 4s, I would definately go for the 4s…90$ difference and the 4s pics are a world better than than the 4, not to mention speed is a bit faster (maybe 10%?) and of course, siri is a fun little addition. (You should have installed it on the iphone 4 and compare speeds then. Siri will be the battery eating speed eating shit that will make the iphone 5 need a quad core processor

Hey i work at apple and the iPhone 4s takes longer to respond to a home button tap because it is trying to register if you are trying to access Siri.

The camera app opening speed comparison may have been biased because you had the iPhone 4 set to video whereas the iPhone 4S was in still shot mode…video prep always takes longer.

Nice vid – but you know for the cam test iPhone 4 is launching Video Recorder and iPhone 4S is launching camera mode? So, not a fair test in that section.

The home button on the 4S is slower than the one on the 4 because Siri is on the 4S. The iPhone 4S always waits a bit to see if you are going to hold down the home button to use Siri, that’s why it’s slower. If you double tap for multitasking, the iPhone 4S is faster because it is a double tap of the home button so there is no chance you are going to use Siri (hold down the button).

Also, your screen comment interested me. I’m going to do a screen comparison with an iPhone 4.

Wow guys, a lot of you are jumping to conclusions or simply do not understand new tech. One thing Snazzy should have done is showcase the processing and graphics capability with 3D apps. iPhone 4S runs these noticeably smoother. Judging the speed by loading apps/sites tells very little. The home button issue can be addressed with a later IOS update. Remember, the 4 had a year to get IOS updates. The 4S is on a brand new IOS. Tweaks will be made.

I think you should take your Sim card out from the iPhone 4 for a fair comparison. It might cause your iP4 a little bit slower because it would keep searching for the AT&T signal.
