**UPDATE:THIS METHOD MAY NOT WORK ON ANY FIRMWARE HIGHER THAN 2.0.0 MAY NOT WORK ON MAC’S This is the solution to fix someone who gets no service on their iphone after restoring to 1.1.4 and unlocking it. Following steps will hopefully get your iphone working.
I have iphone 3G 3.1.2 firmware.
First, make sure you have the 3G & Data roaming OFF. Secondly, Install “sn0w” from blackra1n and finally, reboot the iphone. This should work. It did for me!!

I was so frustrated by this issue, and your vid didn’t help really, but I fixed it by fluke and it was ridiculously easy…
I turned off location services.
I hadn’t had an issue before I turned it on and it took a while for it to become an issue, so I had no idea that was the problem.
For now, it’s working perfectly. I’ll have to see if it loses service again.

Hi deeezill; I unlocked my phone with quickpwn, because ziphone wouldn’t work. I’m on 2.2.1 and the phone recognizes my AT&T sim, but won’t let me use the ihpone functions unless I take the sim out. With the sim in, I can make and take calls, but nothing else. I get a screen saying connect to itunes. Should I use itunes and activate the phone through AT&T (which is what I thought I was trying to avoid) or is there some programing mistake I made? Please help!

I have the Iphone 3g and lost service after upgrading to 2.2 from 2.0.I am using a T-mobile SIM and I am stuck for the last 2 days on what to do. Trying to restore service in some way and no luck, if anyone can help me, would aprreciate it greatly.
