Hello, I have an Iphone 2g, I don’t want to pay for a data plan, so I have not registered for one, how do I fix my phone so that it wont use data service, last month i got charged an outrageous amount just because my phone was automatically using services. Thanks.

Go to settings, general, network, EDGE. Blank the line that says APN.

If you jailbreak it, then you can access this option with the program SBS settings. Except if you’re with AT&T, the data plan is required and comes with the phone, whether you like it or not.
