Hey youtube this video will show you how to get rid of the App Store update badge on your iphone and ipod touch. This is good if you have an app from the app store, and the appstore is telling you that there is an update, and you just want to get rid of that update badge. Credit goes to 7hElit3 1) go to itunes 2) click applications 3) right click on the application you want to use 4) press show in windows explorer 5) Copy the ipa to desktop 6) right click and press open with (open file with winrar, winzip, what ever, something so you can see all the files) 7) Open using WordPad or plist editor
Click Ctrl + F and search for “itemId” 9) Delete the number under “itemId” in between integer 10) leave first number remaining 11) save 12) double click your new ipa 13) sync 14) No more update badge Also Check out my other videos! Thax for this, it didnt work for me as smooth as it apparently did for you, some people should know they have to first download plist editor so they can modify the file (delete the number below “itemID”) (a step which is not specified in the video), also – in my case, i went ahead and modified the .plist file directly from the itunes folder (no copying to desktop and then replacing), then i had to delete the app from my ipod through itunes and then dropped it back into the ipod from itunes.

very helpful video. this fix works! it initially worked in itunes but not on my iphone (i performed a sync operation just to be sure). so i removed the apps from my iphone and reinstalled them with the updated apps as described in the video. now they are gone from the app store updates list!

@branphua cheers!
I actually use metadataremovr in Cydia, which gets rid of the badge notification on any apps from Installous, and keeps them for any apps downloaded from App Store, so you can still update those apps. Pretty cool.

@branphua hey, do you know whether the Appflow cydia app will work with the iPad? I haven’t had a look at it yet, but there’s one app that I don’t want ton update and iTunes is rather annoying me asking me to update it. Cheers

Hey guys, i just found another way of doing this(= Seems that some ppl have been reently havin trouble with the plist. file or smth right.. so try this(= Get “Applow” from cydia. This app basically lists all the apps in your device. Scroll down to the app you want to unbadge, click it. Hit “Badge it” and enter 0. Home button, and the badge on that app is gone(= No respring, no comp., no itunes, takes a minute. Its srsly amazing no one has posted a vid on this haha.
