HOW TO: CHANGE YOUR SETTINGS, DTUNES, AND CYDIA BACKGROUND FOR YOUR IPHONE AND IPOD TOUCH!!!!

What is up guys, this video will show you how to change the background of cydia, dtunes and settings. It will allow you to put any picture that you want as the background. How to SSH: www.youtube.com Awesome website for iphone/ipod touch wallpapers: www.sciphone.net 1) Go to the link above and download any wallpaper that you want. You can also make your own if you want by resizing the picture to 320 x 480. This is the standard iphone wallpaper size. 2) Next you need to make a new folder on your desktop (this can be named anything you want) 3) Inside of that folder, make another and name it UIImages 4) Drag and drop your wallpaper into UIImages, and rename the picture to UIPinstripe.png 5) Then you need to SSH into your device and navigate to /var/stash (hit back once and scroll down to stash) 6) Then drag and drop the folder that you created on the desktop into the Themes folder 7) Once you have done that, open up winterboard on your device and enable it (it will be the name of the folder you made eg. Cydia Wallpaper)

It only worked for settings and not Cydia. I don’t have RockExtensions installed. Could it because I’m running iOS 4.0?

i did this on my 3gs 4.1 firmware but it only changed the setting and winterboard background not cydia any reason for this

Nvm i figured out what the problem was, really dumb of me, had nothing to do with Rock.
I had Winterboard Settings installed and had hide winterboard themes when apps are open option to save memory/battery life. So it canceled the themes for apps, duh XD

It doesn’t work for me either.
I have Rock and Rock extensions. What apps use rock extensions and for what? I mean deleting it could cause rock or another app to be unresponsive. Which isn’t worth a BG.
If that’s the case, where is the original file at? I searched all over my ipod via ssh and cant find original file for the settings/ect backgrounds.

yeah get rid of rockextensions. it for some reason messes with themes and such

Yeah I do. I sometimes install stuff with rock so thought I needed it. If I un-install it will it work?

i followed these instructions and it seems to work for settings but not for cydia, can you think of any reason why this would be?

Can you tell me how you get the loading screen picture different? for example in your video when you open settings, the image is different to both ur SB and settings background. i have a 3.1.2 iphone 3GS, is it possible?

i had to restore my ipod when i got winterboard and now im lsing alll of my music!!!wat do i do cause i didnt back it up and have none of the songs on itunes anymore
