Product works great as described. It fit my iphone 3gs even with a thin silicon case on it. Just what i was looking for.

Do not buy this item for an iPhone unless data transfer is all you want out of it!
I bought this for the specific purpose of connecting my iPhone 3G to my stereo. I wanted a dock so I could see what is playing and have the phone charge while playing. The only audio you will get from the phone is from the internal speaker. The instructions suggest that you plug the audio cable into the phones headphone jack. This is NOT explained clearly in the products description. In my opinion, hiding this device’s limitations in this way is the equivalent of a lie. It was misrepresented to me and I purchased this in good faith.
Do not buy this item for an iPhone unless data transfer is all you want out of it!

This dock works great for charging and data transfer with the included cable. I’m not sure why one would need both types of connections but they are there none the less. The added a/v out is a nice bonus. One thing I liked is that my iphone 3g works with the dock, with the case still on, (it’s not one where the bottom slides off). I just left out the adapter plate, but they didn’t offer support to the phone or the connector.
