i have an iphone 2g 3.0 and just bought the 3gs. have at&t family plan. want to unlock the 2g and swap out at&t sim card from another phone on plan and put in the 2g and use without the data plan. can this be done?

i was following the video all the way up to restoring and everything. i got the phone into DFU and itunes noticed it right away! i then shift-clicked on restore then like it said use iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Restore.ipsw i clicked and it started to extract once it was done got a err of 1600! can anyone help me out?!
