@zimizi yes you can jailbreak, but i suggest you still use redsnow to jailbreak because it’s much easier and better. with redsnow you will also be able to unlock your iphone if you need to by replacing the ipad baseband. check out my latest redsnow video

@hitman6654 yes you can bring it back to normal using itunes just as long as you dont have a ipad bb, if you do then you’ll have to do a custom restore.

So if I unlock my iPhone 3G 4.2.1 can I restore my iPhone 3G still I don’t understand when they say I can only do custom restore…so if anything goes wrong with my iPhone 3G can I click normal restore and bring it back t normal???

it says i entered DFU mode…but then when i go into iTunes, and do the alt-select, i chose the iPhone 4.2.1 custom restore and it didn’t work.. it says the firmware is not compatible… i then tried the iPad restore and the same thing came up… what do i do?

@19transam81 it has to be a custom 4.3 firmware for you to restore to it.

after going to the link for the firmware it downloads it as a zip file and when you extract that zip file all the items are dmg files! how do you get Snow to reconize the firmware file??

I had the same problem but i got to this video on youtube and it told me how to fix the ‘corrupted’ files from cydia idk exactly what the video or uploaders names r but when u search this ” how to fix cydia corrupted files” you should see a video that gives u the links to the downloads and all of that! once your done doing what the guy tells u and also the video shows a laptop with a urban background… good luck

This means then jailbreak was unfinished and is been done unsuccesfull
First run DFU mode and restore your iphone to factory default.
After this is done download from them website of greenpois0n the app
Read carefully and run the steps on your screen… Dont forget to press on ” No” when it asks for apple TV.
It will jailbreak it and will create a loader file. Use the loader file for downloading cydia by your phone.

if i cydia installed on my iphone 3gs it crash every app that i open it in 2 seconds!, i hope dev team comes with a solution to fix it. jailbreaking the 4.2.1 firmware doesnt WORK with redsnOw guys!. even every fix that you see on youtube doesnt solve your problems.

jailbreak it click cydia then run jailbreak.
2. run redsnow again then click just boot tethered now run .
3 you have CYDIA

I have recently tried to do this again, and it STILL DOES NOT WORK. I do the boot tethered, so do not tell me to do that, when i clearly state in the video that i have done it already. idiots.
I now hate redsnow. its shit.
