This is a video of me first showing that the TV input is ok using a child TV game. Then I unplug this and connect the iPhone 3g with the cable from dealextreme. Using a video in the ipod application I try to view but I can only hear sound… I then open a picture and still no video!
Composite cables are usually pinned for older model iPods though I got lucky with my Dynex composite which connects my 3G to TV just fine. This is likely the issue
The first thing youll want to do is double check the TV input is set to Composite. Once that is verified go to Settings > iPod (make sure youve selected NTSC, and not PAL), you also want Widescreen OFF. Try playing a movie or photo now.
what model is your phone and what firmware are you using. all aftermarket cables are firmware specific, and even some of the Apple ones too. a firmware update can make the cables useless. if you buy a cable for your current firmware, DON’T UPDATE.
its because u bought the cable which is not original but the cable of apple the original one it has 5 /6 leads of different colour as your tv is bit old so u need to buy that it has red white blue green &red colour cable which is for the old tv or sony wega then behind at the back of the tv u will see those 5 colours just place the apple iphone or ipod in to that &u will see video
i hate these stupid companies selling these cables stating they would work on 3G and such. I bought one, from ebay, then i told him whats up, they sent me another one because they said it worked on theirs, still didnt work, why is it so hard to make such an easy plug in, gosh!!
Well, I used this video as reference when I issued a complaint to the supplier (dealextreme) and they sent me a replacement and now everything is working as it should! Thanks.
